Ana Pallés Yelen | B.A., M.S., HTCP, C.S.P., CHTP, Co-Founder and Executive Director
Ana is a visionary leader who guided leading-edge strategic management projects in the high tech corporate sector for 15 years. Ana’s experience with organization development and team leadership, produced thoughtful, innovative solutions to company obstacles. Ana believes in promoting wellness, balance and self-empowerment and has spent the past 18 years pursuing education in various mind-body disciplines. Seeking to support our veterans with chronic pain and PTSD symptoms, Ana co-Founded Healing Warriors Program and drives the role of Executive Director. Ana graduated with Honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and with Honors from Regis University with a Masters of Science in Management. Ana’s training includes multiple management and leadership certifications in addition to certification in various complementary care healing modalities. Ana is also the recipient of numerous leadership awards and is recognized amongst her colleagues for her leadership excellence and quality delivery.
Rhonda Hitchcock | Financial Manager
Rhonda has been volunteering with Healing Warriors Program since 2014. When she retired from her teaching career in 2013, Rhonda knew she wanted to do something for veterans. After reading an article in the local paper about the fledgling Healing Warriors Program, she felt called to volunteer. Rhonda first worked as a receptionist at the Healing Warriors Clinic a few hours a week. As the organization grew, the need for additional help with bookkeeping was clear to Rhonda. Since she is an experienced bookkeeper, she gradually stepped into her current role managing the day-to-day bookkeeping functions for the organization, generously volunteering hours of work.
Minor Kelley | Client Services Manager; Safety Manager
“In every job we do, we bring with us all of who we have become.” Minor Kelley, Healing Warriors Program Client Servies Manager, has been serving our clients since starting with us as a volunteer in 2014. In all that time, Minor has been a lifeline to many service members who have called in, looking for help. Her recent promotion to the role of Client Services Manager enables her to expand her assistance to our veterans as she helps provide informational resources on available services and spends more one-on-one time with new clients unfamiliar with Healing Warriors Program services and programs. Additionally, Minor performs the role of Safety Manager ensuring that clinic environment and operations adhere to quality and safety standards for all who visit and work on site. Minor’s background includes a 7-year stint as Office Manager of The Winslow, an independent living center for seniors. Prior to that, she took time to be a full time care-giver for her young grandchildren and elderly mother. Minor also loved teaching and coaching, spending many years doing both. Her final teaching role was at CSU where she taught dance, gymnastics, and aerobics classes. A lifetime resident of Fort Collins, Minor completed her undergraduate degree in Physical Education/Health and additional graduate work in Exercise Physiology at CSU in the early 80’s.This mother of two children, grandmother of five, embraces her multitude of life experiences and brings to Healing Warriors the sum total of that richness to make the day brighter for every client who comes into our office.
Karen Orlosky | Process Manager and HIPAA Officer, CranioSacral Therapist
Karen Orlosky fills multiple roles at Healing Warriors Program. In addition to being a certified CranioSacral practitioner (described more fully in the Practitioners section below), Karen is our VA Liaison and Outreach Clinic Manager, as well as our HIPAA Officer. HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) was enacted to ensure data privacy and security for clients’ healthcare information, and Karen provides diligent oversight and training regarding client data privacy processes at Healing Warriors Program.
Sammie Stephens, AGNP-C, CWHC, HTCP| Training Materials Coordinator
Sammie is a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on integrative healthcare and lifestyle disease prevention. She has a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University. She is also a Real Balance Health Coach and Healing Touch Certified Practitioner. Sammie implemented a health coaching program at Wyoming Medical Center in 2015. In 2016, she helped the same facility develop an integrative health clinic focused on reducing the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. Sammie speaks and blogs about how integrative healthcare can prevent and treat chronic disease. She supports integrative healthcare practices which combine conventional western medicine and complementary therapies such as Healing Touch, Acupuncture, and Cranial Sacral Therapy.
Deborah D. Buonassisi | Grant Writer and Legislative Outreach Director (currently on sabbatical)
A retired USAF Colonel, Deborah brings a depth of management experience and breadth of skills. She served on the personal staff of the Commanding General (CG) in Iraq from mid-2010 until the end of 2011. Prior to her deployment, Deborah worked in the legislative liaison career field in Washington DC for almost 10 years, during which time she worked for a year as a Capitol Hill Fellow on the staff of a U.S. Senator. She also worked on the HQ Air Force staff in strategic planning and policymaking. She has an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School and an M.A. in Political Science. In addition, she earned a legislative studies certificate from Georgetown University.
Ross LaGenèse | Business Development/Funding Liaison/Community Outreach
Ross is a Fort Collins native, although living and traveling through out the world, always comes back to Fort Collins. The last return was in order to raise his two children in this amazing city and state. He comes to us as a former middle school teacher of Language Arts and Social Sciences, parent, actively involved community member, volunteer and staunch supporter of Veterans and their families. Ross volunteers his time bridging the gap between the community at whole and The Healing Warriors program and the necessary funding. We simply cannot survive and continue serving the earned needs of our Veterans without the generosity of our community and our sponsors.
