Healing Warriors Program is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF). These funds will be used to provide non-narcotic therapy sessions at no charge to disabled and at-risk service members who are in need of care for Post-Traumatic Stress and pain management.
This grant program supports Healing Warriors Program’s goal to improve quality of life of Veterans by providing non-narcotic care options for alleviating pain, reducing anxiety, managing stress and improving sleep. In addition to Acupuncture, CranioSacral therapy and Healing Touch therapy, Healing Warriors Program will provide materials to support home care including guided imagery, meditation CDs and other educational resources.
“At a time when our service members are enduring the sustained impacts of pain and post-traumatic stress, it is critically important to provide non-narcotic options of care for our veterans,” says Healing Warriors Program Executive Director and co-founder, Ana Yelen, “This grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation will enable care services to support the veteran’s journey towards restoration of quality of life.”
Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “Managing the stress that takes hold of so many veterans after combat is easier said than done, and that’s why the Healing Warriors Program is so important. If or when traditional therapies fail or fall short of a desired outcome, it’s essential that veterans have other options that work best for them, and we hope this grant gives more veterans that opportunity to heal.”
